The message board that I will be posting my Propranolol experiences on is at: http://medicaltreatments.proboards.com/
I want to encourage anyone else experimenting with medications or behavioral treatments to also post their progress regularly here for the benefit of us all..

Oh here is the post I was looking for!
Hello! I want to try out the specifik dinner for 7 days, please tell me the ingredients and what to eat! Please respond to Carl353@hotmail.com /Kim, a stutterer
Hi, are you going to update this blog as well?
Interesting post you got here. I'd like to read a bit more about that topic. The only thing it would also be great to see on this blog is a few photos of any gizmos.

Hi Simona,
I've just seen your blog this evening and I'm really interested with your researches as I stutter too and had also an experience of fluency that lasted 1 month. How are you so far with your medication and diet?
Hope to hear you soon !
Hey I just came across your blog. I took propanolol and xanax and ativan for my stuttering. The propanolol worked miracles in the first 2-3 months, I still had the tightness in my chest but even when I felt a block coming it never did. However, after a few months, I think my body adjusted to it and my stuttering resumed again. My doctor then put me on atenolol and it seems to do better. I also just enrolled at HCRI at Hollins University for a 12 day therapy session. They have a 93% success rate at reteaching the muscles to speak fluently, so I figured I have nothing to lose by trying. I hope this helps you, I've stuttered severely since I was 7, and I'm 23 now.
Thanks for providing regular useful information about new medical treatment.
Hello, a bit about my background, I'm a Psychiatric Nurse and my 13 year old son has a very hard stutter, he has been in speech therapy since 5 years of age and we think he may have plateaued (could be discouragement) but I have never heard of propanolol for stuttering, it makes sense as it is even FDA approved for public speaking anxiety and I think we will try it for sure, he has a doctor's appointment today. Thank you very much for posting it and I will send you results.
Also read about your vitamin issues, you should know potassium is extremely hard on the GI tract especially in pill form. There are coated potassium tablets that can be obtained through prescription or I would suggest getting it from dietary sources as it isn't quite as harsh on the system. You can get too much of a good thing though, selenium is a heavy metal for instance and probably shouldn't be ingested unless you have a deficiency. Same with potassium to be honest, blood levels too high or too low can cause dysrhythmias of the heart and a host of issues such as rebound hypokalemia (low potassium) when you stop taking the supplements. So, just thought I'd let you know about that in case no one has. Have a beautiful day!
Hello all, I just wanted to leave my experience on here so everyone else can benefit (hopefully). I am 32....I do an OK job with my stuttering but certain things like repeating numbers or introducing myself still give me major anxiety and issues. I began taking propranolol and buspar about a month ago and it seems to help. I would say it has cut my stuttering in half at least and I dont anticipate stuttering or troublesome words as much. If you want to email me at scottezoll@yahoo.com I would gladly explain my situation deeper. Thanks
Hi. I have been doing a lot of reading on potassium magnesium calcium sodium. Etc for some family issues including stuttering. I think it would be interesting to try to get more potassium and less of the other 3 and see what happens. It sounds a lot like a potassium imbalance. Fruits have a lot of potassium. Try more of those. Less to no greens because they are higher in magnesium. People who have too high a ratio of magnesium to potassium have sluggish/slow muscles and brains.
